Messina Gelato Bars — Hitting A Supermarket Near You
Supermarket freezers just got some street cred. Thanks to our friends at Peters, there's three new Messina gelato bars on your block, ready to pick up during your next grocery haul.
We never really thought this day would come, but it has, and it's as exciting for us and it is for you. After partnering with Drumstick last year on four delicious cones, we're back at it with our mates at Peters, creating three classic gelato bars. The process was long and delicious, combining the product development buffs at Peters and our R&D team having many brainstorming and eating sessions.
The result is three classic Messina flavour combos, based on what our customers love, filled with a few of our hand-made sauces from Messina HQ.

Choc Hazelnut Gelato Bar ‐ cocoa gelato, layered with chocolate biscuit and Messina‐made hazelnut sauce, enrobed in hazelnut choc
Espresso Dulce De Leche Gelato Bar ‐ espresso gelato, biscuit and gooey Messina‐made Dulce de Leche centre, enrobed in a milk choc
Strawberry Cheesecake Gelato Bar ‐ lemon infused gelato, biscuit and strawberry sauce, enrobed in pink choc
Inside the Choc Hazelnut Bar you'll find our hazelnut sauce — made using the very best blend of Italian hazelnuts, roasted within our panning machine and blitzed into a fine, oozy sauce. Similarly in the Espresso Dulce De Leche Gelato Bar, you'll taste our traditional dulce de leche sauce. After importing a very large 'Paila' from Argentina a few years ago, we've perfected the South American caramel which we use for all of our caramel based gelato and anything with a caramel addition. We also sell this by the jar from all of our stores, so you can even spread it on your toast in the morning!
You'll find each flavour in packs of 4 at Coles, Woolworths and independent grocery stores, retailing for $10. Sharing optional.
Please note, these will not be for sale at any Messina stores. If they're not in your local supermarket yet, don't panic - we're at the mercy of supermarket distribution chains so they are filtering into the freezer aisle as quickly as possible.
