The Messina Strawberry Farm

The Messina Strawberry Farm

Our strawberry farm is located in Dural, New South Wales

We now grow our own strawberries in Dural, NSW. After a chance meeting with the farmer Tony and his wife Anna, we had the opportunity to visit his farm and sample their amazing strawberries. It's fair to say they were the sweetest, most beautiful strawberries we’d had in years. After farming strawberries here for over 50 years, the time had come to hang up the gloves. Nick asked if Messina could take over the land and produce strawberries for our gelato and products, and luckily he obliged.

LOCATION: DURAL, NSW

What variety are they? Our strawberries are the ‘Albion’ variety, which are sweet and juicy and unlike any other strawberries we’ve tasted.

How long until we’ll get to taste these strawberries? We are already using them in some of our products, but by the end of September 2018 we’ll be growing enough strawberries for all our needs including our strawberry sorbet and strawberries & cream gelato.

What flavours will I find your strawberries in once you have them? Strawberries and Cream, Strawberry sorbet and anything else we make with strawberry in it

In May we visited the farm to help plant new strawberry beds. Our team now go back to Dural every couple of days to tend and pick the strawberries.
