Heilala Tonga Tsunami Relief

Heilala Tonga Tsunami Relief

We're supporting our incredible suppliers at Heilala Vanilla by donating proceeds from all vanilla gelato sales this week to the Heilala Tonga Tsunami Relief.

Heilala Vanilla began in 2002 as an aid project after Cyclone Waka ravaged the islands. Partnering with a local family in the village of Utungake, they established a small vanilla plantation which has grown into a stable and long-term industry for Tonga, redefining corporate-social responsibility by working with an entire nation to transform their future.

After the recent and devastating volcanic eruption and tsunami, Heilala has stepped in again to provide support and assistance to the victims of this natural disaster— already raising over 150,000 NZD. This week (from 14th - 20th Feb), we'll be donating all proceeds across all stores from our vanilla gelato sales.

We use a mix of Heilala extract and vanilla bean, free range eggs and our own Messina Jersey milk to make our vanilla gelato — give it a go next time you're in store! If you'd prefer to make a donation directly to the fundraiser, follow the link below.
