We've been a big fan of The Old Fitz for a while, frequenting the pub in Woolloomooloo and eating Nik Hill’s outstanding food. The pub may still be closed, but luckily for you guys, the COVID shutdowns have led us to create a stellar meal you can order and take-home to enjoy in the comfort of your own sweat pants.
Nik Hill built up quite the reputation amongst Sydneysiders and Poms down-under when he took over the kitchen at The Old Fitzroy last year, redesigning the menu to serve nose-to-tale British pub grub. Hailing from Sepia, Quay and 8 years at The Ledbury in London, Nik has worked in some of Sydney's and London's most respected restaurants. And the Old Fitz is no exception - his food is f*cking delicious.
It's not somewhere you'll find your typical Aussie pub fair... no parmi, tex-mex or Caesar salads in sight. But you will find raw beef on dripping toast, pork pie tarts, scotch eggs and a classic dory with mushy peas and chips.
He's taken the best of his menu to create the savoury part of our Take Home Dinner Pack, and we’ve created the ooziest, stickies pudding we could think of to finish it off.
DINNER PACK
Serves 2 (actually easily 3 or leftovers)
- Pork Pie Tart, Queens Mustard (pork, gluten, dairy, alcohol)
- Roast Chicken & Artichoke Pie, Chicken Fat & Jura Wine Sauce (chicken, gluten, dairy, egg, alcohol, onion)
- Beetroots Vinaigrette, Horseradish, Dill & Hazelnuts (nuts, dairy, onion)
- Messina Sticky Toffee Pudding with a Vanilla Crème Brûlée Custard Centre + a 500ml Tub of Gelato (pick your flavours, but we highly recommend vanilla) (egg, dairy, medjool dates)

And we wanted to bring a little love to Melbourne, so we've now extended the delicious kits to Fitzroy. Wew've extended orders for a little longer...don't miss out!
