Double Down And Support Your Favourite Restaurants — Our Top Picks In The East

Do your bit and support the establishments you love and would like to visit once doomsday is over. All you have to do is order takeaway or delivery, from the comfort of your PJ's... no judgement here. It's. That. Easy.

Hello from inside an industry that can't work from home. Like many eateries and restaurants around the world right now, we're adapting and making adjustments daily to comply with Covid-19 regulations, whilst churning out as much gelato as we can to you and our 19 stores. Altering our business to takeaway and delivery only, was no easy feat, but we did it... along with some of our most loved local restaurants.

So these are our top 10 for the East...

Room Ten

Start the day on the right foot and with the right coffee. Using Mecca grounds and R10 barristers, you can do no wrong. They also have one of the best brunch menus in Syd with stuffed pastries, towering salads and sandwiches and they don't make a bad cuppa tea either.
Available for pick or delivery from Potts Point.

Small's Deli

A brand new hole-in-the-wall sandwich and salad bar, that isn't shy on flavour or toppings. One of their giant sandwiches will happily get you through your WFH day.
Available for pick or
delivery from Potts Point. Call or email direct to order.

Fish Butchery – Mr Niland At Home

Fish Butchery and Josh Niland are selling easy to cook / assemble dinner kits, one for each day of the week. You'll find meals like spiced Red Gurnard tacos, prawn and ocean trout jambalaya and spaghetti vongole. Can also order fresh seafood and cured fish or visit in store to find a fresh catch.
Available for pick up from Paddington.

Dimitri's Pizza

The Crown Street institution (70's), made the big move to Oxford Street last year to live out their woodfire + sourdough dreams... warming the stomachs of everyone who's been lucky to try. The 48-hour fermented dough is made with stone ground flour before being topped with unorthodox vegies, hand-stretched mozzarella and you can add nduja, anchovies or both to pretty much everything. Upgrade with Grifter tinnies and a stellar selection of natty wine, have a squiz at their takeaway menu.
Available for pick up from Darlinghurst.

The Unicorn

Take the pub... home. Your fave chicken parma, schnitty and Mary's burgers are being boxed up and shipped out. They've got a slew of bottles and cans to pair or takeaway margs + other bar in a jar cocktails.
Available for pick up from Paddington or via
Deliveroo.

Porteño

We never thought we'd see the day that Porteno would offer home delivery, but it's happened, and it looks god damn delicious. Choose from a beef ragu lasagna, woodfired porcetta or pollo asado – whole Argentinian charcoal chicken with mojo verde. Throw in a Malbec or two while you're at it.
Available for pick up from Surry Hills or
delivery.

Love, Tilly Devine

$60 will get you a lasagna pack with sides and a bottle of Village Pinot from Gentle Folk Wine. What more could you want really?
Available for pick or delivery from Darlinghurst. Call or email direct to order.

RaRa (Redfern & Randwick)

One of the Messina owners favourite haunts. Can't go past the tonkotsu with housemade black garlic and chilli... reckon it would be his last meal.
Available for
pick or delivery from Randwick and Redfern.

Peppe's Bondi

Handmade gnocchi and pasta that's completely vegan, Iggy's bread and antipasti... similar to getting a big hug from Nonna.
Available for pick or delivery from Bondi.

El Indio

Some very festive South American street food to warm up your belly. Their arepas are excellent, or if you want the works, go for the corrientazos which is a mixed plate of meat, beans, rice, arepas and sides.
Available for
pick up or delivery from Bondi.

Well there's no guessing what we're recommending for dessert. If you're in the area picking up, drop by our Darlo, Surry Hills, Bondi or other stores on your way home for a few scoops and a tub for the apocalyptic freezer.

N.B. delivery companies take around 30% of sales, so although it's convenient, if you're healthy and able, pick up your own takeaway direct from each site. That way as much profit as possible can go into the pockets of the restaurants and their staff.

And in the spirit of #goingnowherebutfuckitimgettingdressed — don your best threads and make takeaway, occasion day.
