In a Messina first, we’re unveiling OUR GREATEST HITS, all in one hit.

We’re taking over the Rosebery and Fitzroy cabinets for one weekend ONLY and bringing back our most loved specials, from over the years. We’ve watched as over 4000 specials have hit the cabinet since opening. Some come and leave without so much as a whisper, whilst others make a lot of noise and are so good they make regular come backs. Always greeted with much frantic fanfare from those who know.

We’ve been tallying the results and have decided to hit the cabinet with flavours that are bona fide all killer and no filler for a weekend special. It's time to come out swinging with hits from the past, today and future classics! All in one weekend...40 flavours, all Messina specials, 48 hours only.

It’s hard to believe we’ve been around since 2002, when we opened our first Darlinghurst store on Victoria street.  In those 17 years and now close to 20 stores, our cabinets have seen up to 4000 gelato specials and new flavours do the rounds, rotating in and out along side Messina classics. For those who don't know, Messina specials first came fruition properly when Head Chef Donato Toce joined the team in 2008, and he made them a permanent offering. They now occupy 5 slots in our cabinet and rotate every week so there's a new flavour every Tuesday - Saturday. We've had thousands of different flavour creations over the years - some, we’re happy to forget about… like Nacho Libre (don’t ask) and Roast Chicken Sorbet, but there’s a lot that are house favourites, and that we get asked to bring back on the reg or have a special back story to them. They've become an integral part of Messina history and our story overall. So we thought we'd celebrate!

We're currently compiling the list of our all time greats to go into the TOP 40 like Jon Snow, Fairy Bread, Robert Brownie Jnr, Red Wedding, Number Two and Montgomery's Gold Mine so get your suggestions in while you can! Churning starts soon!

- Saturday & Sunday 27 - 28th July - 11am until sold out (Rosebery), 12pm until sold out (Fitzroy)

- First come first serve on the day

- No Deliveroo available at these stores. Come and get it :)

- Our Classic flavours won't be available at Rosebery and Fitzroy on this weekend, but will be at all other stores.

- All flavour suggestions welcome but as we only have 40 spaces in the cabinet, we can't fit EVERYTHING in.
