Greek Desserts at James Street Food and Wine Trail

We're new to the neighbourhood in Fortitude Valley with our second Brisbane store, right behind James Street and next to the stunning Calile Hotel.

Meaning that this year we've been invited along to the James Street Food and Wine Trail, ready to show what we're made of.

Visit us in our marquee on the corner of James Street and Doggett Street, directly across from the Hellenika stall on Sunday 28th July. As they are also our neighbours IRLย at our bricks and mortar store, we've created our desserts with a little Greek inspiration from our friends at Hellenika.

Think two custom gelato creations that can only be purchased, experienced and eaten at this event:

BAKLAVA SLIDER: Fior di latte gelato, sandwiched between lemon and honey-soaked layers of filo pastry and toasted pistachios, walnuts and almonds

LOUKOUMADES SUNDAE: A scoop of honey gelato with honey-soaked fresh loukoumades, topped with honey caramel and candied pistachios and walnuts

Loukoumades will be fried fresh to order, and slathered in a warm syrup before being assembled into the sundae and we'll have fresh slabs of our traditional baklava, ready to be sandwiched around our creamy Jersey milk fior di latte gelato.

Leading up to the special event, we're also creating a custom Baklava gelato flavour for our cabinets (in all stores) and Hellenika's dessert menu.

You'll be able to have a scoop of CHEWBAKLAVA: roasted almond gelato with almond baklava folded through, at our Fortitude Valley store or any of our other stores from 23rd July, for one week.
