Messina Eats: The San Telmo Group

SAVE THE DATE for our first South American Messina Eats with The San Telmo Group on Friday 6th - Saturday 7th September.

The Melbourne based restaurant team are the proud owners of three Argentinian sites: Palermo, Asado and San Telmo. All specialising in traditional charcoal BBQ dishes, with premium grass-fed Australian meat and punchy herb relishes.

The parrilla BBQ's will be fired up with hot coals all morning, ready to cook the traditional La Boqueria chorizo and stuff the Choripan.

The theatre will continue with slow cooked roast lambs, charred over the customary asado fire pits. It's quite a spectacle, if you've never experienced it before. The chefs will be carving up the meat live from the 12pm lunch service and again around 7pm for dinner. And you'll be able to eat this within a crusty bread roll with cabbage slaw and their famous chimichurri.

It wouldn't be a South American fiesta without rich starchy sides. We'll have fried papas with chimichurri rojo and aioli and three kinds of hand rolled empanadas; beef, green olive and egg, pork shoulder with chipotle and tuscan cabbage or a vegetarian sweetcorn with mozzarella.

And you can't possibly leave without dessert. We're whipping out our saucy Argentinean weapon with a sweet empanada sundae, stuffed with dulce de leche, as well a leche flan concoction. Sip on non-alcoholic San Telmo Spritz's, whilst you wait in line. It's no Malbec, but it'll have to do whilst in #cityofsydney.

WHEN: Friday 6th - Saturday 7th, 12pm - late

WHERE: Messina HQ, 58 Mentmore Avenue, Rosebery

ENTRY: 100% free.
