We don't normally play with fire but when we do it's for Vivid Fire Kitchen.
Every year Vivid Sydney turns the city into a glowing fever dream of lights, music, fire and every second person saying “wait hold on, I need a photo of this.”
And honestly? Fair enough, we'd do the same.
From giant light installations to waterfront projections, the whole of Barangaroo Reserve turns into one big late-night wander. You’ll find yourself admiring the lights, rugged up against Sydney’s winter air and slowly making your way from one glowing installation to the next when suddenly… it hits you.
You want dessert.
Maybe before dinner. Maybe instead of dinner. We’re not here to judge.
That’s where we come in.

CHURRO FLAN-TASTIC – Fior di latte gelato on a bed of chocolate mud cake and caramel flan, topped with hot churros and chocolate sauce

FRY ME A RIVER – Deep fried burnt vanilla gelato on toasted creme brûlée, topped with dark chocolate custard & Maldon Sea Salt

S'MORE PLEASE – Milk chocolate gelato layered over graham cracker crumbs, swirled with chocolate brownie cheesecake, topped with dark chocolate fudge and toasted vanilla marshmallow.
ONE NIGHT ONLY: DONATO TAKES OVER
On Sunday 7th June, Messina co-owner and chef Donato Toce will be taking over the Stargazer Lawn with live demonstrations and a special dessert takeover as part of Vivid Fire Kitchen. So if you’ve ever wanted to watch the man behind some of Messina’s most delicious dessert ideas do his thing live, this is your moment.
