THE GELATO OMAKASE IS HERE

THE GELATO OMAKASE IS HERE

We've built a lot of things out of gelato over the years. This might be the strangest, and we mean that in the best way possible.

The Gelato Omakase is our most immersive experience at Erin. You book a table, you sit down, and that's the last decision you have to make. From there it's nine courses, each one built around a gelato or sorbet element, each one pulling from a different corner of the world. A bit Italian, a bit Japanese, a bit "where did that come from."

Omakase means "I'll leave it up to you". It's a Japanese dining style where you don't order from a menu, the chef just chooses every course for you. We've taken that idea and built it entirely around gelato.

Think of it less as a set menu and more as a tour of everything gelato can be once it stops playing by the rules. Sweet, savoury, textural, occasionally all three in the same bite. Dishes you'd never think to order, and won't stop thinking about after.

What's on the table

Pambula Sydney Rock Oyster

Pear sorbet, white balsamic kombu vinegar, granny smith apple. A clean, bright first bite, this is no standard mignonette.

Vegemite Toast

Miso vegemite gelato, brioche, molasses honey. Vegemite toast reimagined: half Aussie breakfast table, half Japanese pantry.

Prawn Cocktail

Avocado semifreddo, Western Australian amaebi prawn, seaweed tart, finger lime. A retro dinner party classic, given a total gelato rework.

Beef tartare

Foie gras gelato, wagyu ramp cap, Japanese milk bread, WA black truffle. One of the richest courses on the menu, and it doesn't hold back.

Bacon & Eggs

Bacon gelato, poached egg, cauliflower mousse, guanciale, smoked almond. Breakfast AND gelato for dinner.

Erindale Gnocchi

EVOO gelato, mushroom, kombu butter, sage, almond foam, WA black truffle. A savoury gnocchi course with a melting olive oil gelato sauce.

Gundagai Lamb

Tahini gelato, koji glazed Gundagai lamb, caramelised cumin, hummus. Substantial enough to anchor the whole meal.

Hibiscus & Shiso

Hibiscus and shiso sorbet, sake yoghurt, port wine. A palate cleanser before dessert.

Strawbaccio

Fior di latte gelato, wild strawberry, cacao nib tuille, pistachio mousse. The night closes on fior di latte and wild strawberry.

Drinks Pairing

Going all in? The $80 drinks pairing runs alongside the meal: five wines and cocktails, matched perfectly to what you're eating, finishing with an aperitif to send you off.

The details

Available Thursday to Saturday from 6pm at Erin. $129 per person, with the optional drinks pairing for $80.

There's nothing else quite like it on our menu, or anyone else's. That's kind of the whole point.
