Time to look back at what was actually the most popular flavours of 2025, not just what you think is the most popular... so you can finally prove your mates wrong and definitively say that their flavour is mid and yours is top tier.

Top 5 Classics

These 5 are the backbone of Messina, the reliable bring-home-to-your-mum type:

1. Pistachio Praline

2. Cookies & Cream

3. Milk Choc Peanut

4. Macadamia Crunch

5. Salted Caramel

A few fun notes from the data:

• Salted Caramel knocked Dulce out of the top 5 this year. Recession indicator, probably :/

• BUT, If you combine Super Dulce de Leche and Dulce de Leche, Dulce actually takes out second place overall. So the Dulce stans (south americans) can relax.

• Straight Pistachio has only been in the cabinet for about half the year, so it is criminally under-represented. If it had a full year on the board, it would almost definitely be right up the top.

A "Kit" is what call the box which contains the gelato base and all the additions which we produce at HQ and send out to stores (this is how we maintain quality across all stores!)

The Rotating Weirdos

These flavours live in the “store manager’s choice” zone, which means they are not in every store all the time, so their rankings are a bit skewed:

• Blood Orange

• Rum and Raisin

• Matcha

• Yoghurt Caramel

• Pear and Rhubarb

• Pannacotta

They rotate partly because managers like to mix things up and partly because they are not exactly Pistachio Praline-level popular. Think of them as cult favourites, not chart toppers.

By The Numbers

Across the year we made 1,414,487 kilograms of gelato. That is just over 1.4 million kilos of the good stuff and it's our biggest year EVER 🥺
