Messina Eats Wonderbao

It's been four long awaited years — Wonderbao are coming back to Sydney for a Lunar New Year pop up, featuring Mango Pancakes!  Visit on the 9th – 10th February.

Wonderbao — the Melbourne makers behind the fluffiest, pillowy bao are flying their whole crew to Sydney for a Lunar New Year baotiful feast in our Marrickville HQ carpark.

Featuring their Gua Bao Trio covering every spectrum of texture, you'll find BBQ Pork with hoisin, fried chicken with sweet & spicy Korean sauce and crispy tofu with okonomiyaki sauce.  Feeling extra luxe?  The team will be debuting a DIY peking duck platter for you to choose your own adventure.

If you're more into the classics, their filled Bao Trio will warm your belly — BBQ pork, vegie and sweet custard.

Meet the new Wonderbao dish — DIY Roast Duck Platter: mini gua bao, hoisin sauce, cucumber, spring onion, side salad.

Our chefs have combined two of their loves, nostalgic Chinese and their favourite childhood snack with a Sweet & Sour Potato Gems concoction — potato gems coated in sweet & sour sauce, capsicum, pineapple, red onion and pork crackling.

For dessert, we're celebrating with a return of the Mango Pancake party — mango sorbet & whipped cream wrapped in house-made mango crêpes.

By now you should have built up a thirst — pop over to the Messina Creative bar, who'll be mixing spicy mango margs and peach bubble teas.
