Floriade
Hey Canberra, guess what? We’ve packed the caravan, hit the highway, and parked ourselves right in the middle of Floriade. From now until 12th October, you can wander through a million blooming flowers whilst treating yourself with a scoop of gelato.
Over one million blooms are taking over Commonwealth Park, with this year’s theme being Science and Nature. Think flowerbeds designed like little love letters to physics, astronomy and botany. Add in live music, food, workshops, art, and even gnome painting (yes, really), and you’ve got yourself a springtime fever dream.
We’re here scooping every single day but the real showstopper is NightFest (2nd–5th October), when the light turn on, the music turns up, and the gardens glow like a Taylor Swift stadium show (just minus the friendship bracelets).
Just for the occasion, we’re bringing along our UNMATCHABLE sundae: Layers of matcha cake, strawberry compote, strawberry gelato and matcha fudge, topped with strawberry and vanilla meringue
Daytime at Floriade is free, perfect for morning strolls, a few flower selfies, and hot-tip, mark Dogs’ Day Out on 12th October, because makes a day better than a park full of good boys.
