This cake can be reserved for collection from all stores apart from Surry Hills and The Star – for collection from these stores, you can visit us in store. We have a limited number of cakes available in every store each day. You can drop in and purchase a cake (subject to stock) anytime we’re open or call ahead to make sure we have the one you want. Online cake orders require a 2-day turnaround.
If you don’t have 2 days, visit any store and buy from the selection they have available, or give them a call 24 hours before to reserve one. If it’s for a special occasion, we highly recommend ordering ahead.
Our recommended safe travel time for cakes is 30 mins from store to freezer. If it’s a hot day, use your noggin… and make the trip snappy! If you want to extend your travel time, bring a cooler bag or esky.
To enhance the flavours and assist in cutting, the cake should be removed from the freezer and placed in the fridge 20 mins before serving. Always use a hot, sharp knife and ensure you wipe off any excess water to prevent depositing ice crystals on the cake.
We also sell candles which you can order online or pick up in store. All stores offer HAPPY BIRTHDAY plaques. Orders made in advance for collection from Rosebery or Fitzroy also have the option to add a name to the plaque.
Our trifle has become a bit of a yearly tradition, and one our Christmas tables can't live without - and this year is no exception. Channelling a good 'ol Aussie Christmas in the sunshine, we've gone tropical with our flavours this year:
- Passionfruit mousse
- Guava flummery (a bit like a whipped jelly)
- Macadamia crunch
- Coconut chiboust (a lightly whipped coconut cream)
- Mango soaked sponge
- Mango sorbet
- Topped with a pineapple and passionfruit 'mosaic' and handmade chocolate coconut
- 1 x large glass bottle of Messina rum custard (made with Messina Milk of course)
- Messina branded glass trifle bowl
- Box of 5 x Messina Print Christmas crackers (some of which contain free Messina scoops and a year’s supply of Messina hiding inside)

PRICE: $170 / SERVES 20-30(depending on how much you eat!)
PICK UP LOCATIONS: Available for collection at all stores apart from The Star, Surry Hills, Richmond and Coolangatta
COLLECTION TIMES: When ordering your cake, make sure you select a pick-up time between 12pm on FRIDAY 20th December and6pm on Christmas Eve (24th December). You cannot pick up before 20th December – sorry!
TRAVEL TIME: This year you'll begetting a snazzy Messina cooler bag and icepack as part of your Christmas cake package. If you keep the cooler bag sealed, you can travel for up to 2 hours.Pop it in the freezer as soon as you get to your destination.
SERVING INSTRUCTIONS: Basically, it’s a ‘free for all’ service. Take it out of the freezer 30-45 minutes before serving (depending on your home freezer), give it a poke to test how soft it is.
TRIFLE BOWL DIMENSIONS: 22cm (diameter), 12cm (h) so make sure it fits in ya freezer!
