Back in 2021, we started working with our friends at Fareshare to offer a collection points for the amazing meals they make for people who have fallen on hard times.
FareShare rescues food that would otherwise go to waste and cooks it into free, nutritious meals for people in need. An estimated five million Australians experienced food insecurity last year while food waste costs our economy an estimated $20 billion. FareShare tackles the tragedy head on by rescuing surplus, quality food from supermarkets, wholesalers, farmers and other businesses and cooking it into nutritious meals.
FareShare cooks around 15,000 free meals a day for charities such as soup vans, homeless shelters, women’s refuges and community food banks.
We're delighted to be able to offer our Brunswick East store in Melbourne as a collection point for anyone who needs a meal, and as of 2nd Feb 2021, there's no need to pre-order online, simply pop in when the store is open.
